Mix & Match different brands of charcoal

Hi all I experimented with Stubbs charcoal and do not like it. Kingsford is better in my opinion. The Stubbs didn't burn as hot or as long. Anyway, I still have some of the Stubbs left and would like to use it up. Can I mix Kingsford with the remaining Stubbs? Appreciate it. Richie

Pork Spare Ribs on Weber Gas Grill

I got a few slabs of pork spare ribs from my butcher. I intended on St. Louis style but all they had was frozen and I didn't want that. Besides, the regular pork spares were cheaper. Anyway, I don't really have any experience with these and would like to use my gas grill (which hasn't gotten...

Saturday was the first really nice day in a loooong time! Mid 50's and bright sunshine. I had to work in the morning but had my heart set on smoking in the afternoon. I purchased some goodies on amazon, the new ET-733 (works awesome), an injector, and Steve Raichlen Beer Can Chicken Roaster...

Hi all. My wife and I will be hosting a booze filled party this weekend. I would like to try some ABT's for our guests. On my 18.5" i plan on filling both the top and lower grates. How much charcoal do you think I will need to put in the chimney starter? I've read that the temp should be...

WSM: buy new or used ?

So I'm in the market for a new WSM 18". A friend if mine has a used 18" (maybe used 15 times) that is about 5 years old. I'm trying to decide if I should just buy a new one for $300 or make him an offer for his. He has the cover, chimney starter and maybe 1 other accessory that he would...
