    $25 Genesis Silver A

I would not take a wire wheel to the grease tray. First, scrape out what you can with a 2" putty knife, the use some oven cleaner and a thing of household steel wool to clean it up good. You will probably be amazed at how good the grill looks after a cleaning. The only real problem with a...

    $25 Genesis Silver A

Not mine Jon. BOth are same shelf height. Not sure about lid height though. But the older one doesn't have caster wheels either like the newer one.

I have been seeing quite a few Spirit II's pop up on the for sale sites. Almost no Genesis II grills though. Anyone else seeing that?

    $25 Genesis Silver A

Yah, I still have to dig into mine and check out the internals a bit closer. Glad to see you got a nice lid.

    $25 Genesis Silver A

Good deal. That one looks like it is in very good condition. I picked up two silver A's the day before yesterday....both free. One is just like yours and one is a little older. The one like yours is better IMO because it has the swing table and it also has a full wire rack bottom. Both of...

Sounds like Gary did a great sales job on him.

Yah, even the blonde ones seem to figure that one out pretty quick.

That is pitiful. Not unlike other cabinet Weber grills, but at $2800 and three to four times the price, you would expect a lot more.

Gary: "It is just a parts grill honey and I got it for free."

10yr old Summit 670, Structural Rust and Weber discontinued parts so I cannot even repair it. $2800 wasted?

They seem to get great marks for grilling. But the big downside issue is that key parts rust or wear out much sooner than they should for a 2k plus grill and Weber many times is not able or willing to fully honor the warranty on them.

Well, I thought I had a chance at an E310 for rehabbing.....Until the picture of the cabinet. https://madison.craigslist.org/for/d/mount-horeb-weber-genesis-grill/7222193082.html

Oh, I didn't really read the add. I just looked at the photos. It also sounds like he is a rehabber. "testing the waters on this one". Probably his way of covering up old faded, sun bleached tables. I agree, he needs to do something about that base. With much moving around, that grill is...

I would just compare that net price to what you could otherwise find. You might find the difference to be somewhat closer than you thought like Larry did.

    Just picked up this redhead

Looking pretty darn good to me. It looks like you have the hard part done. Keep us posted.

I wonder if those shelves are even real wood.

Without seeing the inside, I am gonna say $150 as it sits but could be $400 fully rehabbed. That does look to be in prime condition.

How much of a discount are they giving you? I would offer it up on CL. There are plenty of people out there that think it is an easy fix and are willing to go down the rabbit hole.

Restoring my free Weber Genesis 1000

Gary: I agree with Larry as well. Most of the grills I pick up for rehabbing don't have warming racks. If they do, they are all rusted to snot. Most people never replace them when they rust out which is quite quickly since they are not Stainless. And the other people just take them out...

Restoring my free Weber Genesis 1000

Rich, for a personal grill, I would opt for the $75 bars. But I have not actually had a set of those....the specs just look really good for the price. Reviews are good too. I am not sure how to tell if they are OEM CI grates. I would look on the bottom side for markings.

Restoring my free Weber Genesis 1000

Yah, I would go with something in the next step up if it was a long time keeper. However, $30 isn't a bad deal to try out.
