Which is more valuable, old SS Performers or the newer ones?

I am amazed that the Clorox cleaner had brought back my performer plastic table to like new condition with no scrubbing. Thanks again Harold. I will try it out on my cutting boards.

Which is more valuable, old SS Performers or the newer ones?

I have both styles of Performers. I converted my old Performer to accept the smaller 1# disposable propane tanks that I refill from my 20#. Given that both have the same style propane tanks, my complaints with the older style are that the lid swings up to access the bin (which is a pain if you...

    ss performer

All these years I was using the match holder wire to lift up the hinged portion of the grate to add more coals. I had no idea it was intended to hold a match until now.

    Performer Gold Mods?

Once you have propane start, you don't want to do without it. Good luck with your conversion if you decide to do it.

    Performer Gold Mods?

I converted my newer performer with gas assist. It wasn't a bolt on conversion but it is doable. Here is the link: http://tvwbb.com/showthread.php?44565-Performer-Propane-Conversion&highlight=weber+performer+propane

    Performer Propane Conversion

Updated picture of regulator assembly with correct yellow teflon tape. The gas valve is 3/8" and the regulator is 1/4" so the adapters are 1/4" to 3/8" (correction from my post above).

    Performer Propane Conversion

Darrel, I was going to name the title Propane Tank Conversion but I decided to cover my newer Performer conversion to propane. I had to drill the holes for the non propane Performer, one large hole for the tube and two smaller holes for the bracket. You can see the side view of the large hole...

    What grill is this????

Looks like a brake rotor to me as well. The vents in the rotor permit air flow to the lower portion of the grill. Unless there is a plate on the bottom of the rotor, the hot ash will fall to the bottom and onto the wood stump.

    5 yr old Performer Platinum...

Owning both the old and new performers, I will take the plastic table over the top that swings upward so that you have to remove anything on top to open it and a plastic bin that always falls down. My back appreciates the several inches in height of the new performer. I was thinking that a...

    Performer Propane Conversion

Sorry I do not have a parts list, take the regulator to the hardware store and find the parts you need. I have another pic that shows a clearer view: Regarding the expensive refill, the place I go to will refill the cylinder you bring them, most other places do an exchange only for the 20lb...

    Performer Propane Conversion

I converted my older style Performer to eliminate the 5lb propane cylinder and to accept the camping style propane cylinders. The main reason to eliminate the 5lb propane tank was that it was costing me over $10 for a refill, where I can get a 20lb tank refilled for a little over $20. I use a...

    Smoke House

I think that as farms were equipped with electricity they acquired freezers then the need to smoke the fall butcherings became a thing of the past. When my Grandmother grew-up on her farm they were without electricity, made their own butter and listened to a battery powered radio for...

    Smoke House

My belated Grandparents farm still has a smoke house. Ever since I was a kid they used it as a tool shed but it once was used for smoking meats. Does anyone still use smoke houses? Do to the size (10' x 12') I imagine that they are not used for residential purposes.
