Weber Smoque???????? Did Weber misspell the name of their Pellet grill?

One of my friends in Florida has one and loves it. Built like a tank, but it is kept in his screened in pool patio, and given the pool and Florida humidity, it is not exempt from rust.

Weber Smoque???????? Did Weber misspell the name of their Pellet grill?

I have bern there. It was top drawer - but pricey - when I went years ago,

My first score of the new season

Those dual igniters are pricier and harder to find. I always thought it was more an esthetics thing to make a less cluttered side burner. I would agree that around that time is when Weber started listening too much to the bean counters (it takes one to know one) and looking for ways to cut...

I will just leave this here

I personally don’t think using a good set of gas Q200/2000 grates would be that much different than grilling on the original CharQ grate. I would rather have that, in fact, than the stainless grates that have the same filled-in areas to protect the burner on the gas version. That CharQ is...

    Performer Deluxe Restoration

They do very good work, too. Brian is the best in my book and has many more creative ideas. Here is one that I accidentally broke. Not Brian’s fault:

    Performer Deluxe Restoration

That's the most stunning Performer I have ever seen! Another masterpiece. Love the midnight black look which like Steve said, elevates a ho-hum design to a classic(y). Can't wait to see a set of Brian's beautiful handles on there for the very final touch :coolkettle: .

My first score of the new season

These Ryobi wire wheels hold up way better than all the other brands I've tried. It does make a big difference. I have tried several different brands and none of them held up like these. I'm sure there are some high-end brands that make good ones at a premium price also but these are pretty...

    Curb Alert !!!

Josh, I will be very interested to see how you fare in your market with a beautifully restored, but classic - not thin stainless-steel modern - Weber. I am rooting for you! :coolkettle:

Looks like a pretty nice option if you wanted to give one of those type a try. NOT for a flip. I would bet it would be an easy fix to get this one going.

    Curb Alert !!!

One other thing: While I do think the earlier, squarer hoods look "better" in some respects (and don't like the oversized aluminum bezel on the center-mounted thermometer), the curved-out handle that goes with this hood is really a better idea. Fewer burned knuckles!

    Found Free Silver B

That is a really great looking grill. It has all come together very nicely! I agree that the stainless front panel was the perfect tie in.

    Curb Alert !!!

Don't get me wrong, I will always first be a fan of the Genesis 1-5 and x000 grills. However, this particular late Silver with the black trim, pinstripe and dual flip up tables earns a special "Honorable Mention" in my list. One was my daily driver for several years. It keeps the classic Weber...

That one is a bit of a project, but that will make it all the more fun to see what you do with it! :coolkettle:

Josh, I have use Mothers on aluminum parts but never thought to try it on stainless. Now we know how you get that electrifying shine!

High Heat Ultra Paint - Did we know this?

I don't guess I really knew this specifically, but I have USUALLY done a burn off that should accomplish this goal. I am glad you pointed this out for this paint that a lot of us use. It does make sense. When I have tried to get by with 600-degree paint on some of my Weber Q grills (because I...

    Stainless Steel Platinum Cook Boxes

My daily driver SS Platinum from years ago endured a small Chernobyl event in the hands of the prior owner. I can't say if there is some reason in common for the warping and meltdowns you and others have seen. I did a quick check and found that unlike in the earlier Platinum models, the SS...
