    Coronavirus - Covid 19

It's my understanding that a novel coronavirus is one that resides in animals and finally makes the leap to humans, thus it is novel (new) to us. It could have been in animals for years, decades, centuries, who knows? So in that sense it's been "with us" for perhaps a long time. But I doubt it's...

    Coronavirus - Covid 19

It's fine to take what the head Chinese medical expert says with a grain of salt. But as with everything in this pandemic, information and best practices seem to evolve. I'm betting that as masks become more available, the messaging from public health officials will evolve to suggest that...

Forum Moves To New Software Starting Wednesday 2/12/20

I'm not sure they knew it was a forum, I think it was simply we were consuming too much bandwidth for a home internet connection and that's what caught their attention.

    Coronavirus - Covid 19

Many people are wearing masks and gloves in the grocery store and inside Costco where I live. Next time I go, I will wear both. From the article I linked above: We're not having particularly warm weather here in CA. It will be in the low 70's this coming week, but we've been in the 50's to low...

Forum Moves To New Software Starting Wednesday 2/12/20

The forum started in 2000 using software called Ultimate Bulletin Board from a company called Infopop. It ran on a server in a friend's spare bedroom. In 2004, when Comcast told my friend he could no longer run a forum over his home internet connection, I moved the forum to a hosted version of...

The forum software automatically resizes photos to save on storage space. It won’t let you upload a high resolution photo, but you could link to one hosted elsewhere. Thanks for posting about this, I learned something new!

Need some help refurbishing a Summit S-650

Let me rewind. The last time I checked with Weber Support, they did not sell individual replacement igniters, they only sold the entire manifold assembly with new valves and new igniters for about $100. I don't know if that's still the case for buying from Weber. Now that you mention it, I did...

    Coronavirus - Covid 19

Let's hope so. We've been hearing that Covid-19 is 10x more deadly than seasonal flu, let's hope it's the same fatality rate as seasonal flu or lower. Here's the catch. The CDC estimates about 31 million people got seasonal flu so far this year. The CDC's worst case estimate for Covid-19 is...

If I'm not mistaken (someone correct me if I'm wrong), when even a single igniter dies on these grills, you replace the entire manifold assembly for around $200+. The igniters are integrated with the manifold and not sold separately.
