Harry Soo asking for my Advice

Has me thinking of a twist to the maxim “height of originality is skill in concealing origins.” Perhaps, Kemper, Harry Soo will use your brisket secrets to win his next championship. Assuming, you shared your secrets.

What’s going to stand the test of time?

I suspect they saw gas grill sales declining as griddle sales were rising. But that is just speculation on my part.

What’s going to stand the test of time?

They have been making smash burgers at dinners across the nation for probably at least 80 years. They were just called hamburgers. Give it a new name, what was old is now new again. If only I could figure out a new name to give to parachute pants.

What’s going to stand the test of time?

That’s funny, you deleted a nonsense quote from Grandpa Simpson. I sould have cited it. :) Grandpa Simpson Quote. I thought it was kind of funny, with the discussion on griddles rabbit trailing to coal chutes and furnaces from back in the day.

What’s going to stand the test of time?

“Anyway, about my washtub...I just used it that morning to wash my turkey, which in those days was known as a "walking bird". We'd always have walking bird on Thanksgiving with all the trimmings: cranberries, ……., yams stuffed with gunpowder. Then we'd all watch football, which in those days was...

I just purchased the griddle accessory for my Genesis gas grill. I think I might keep,it set up in that mode, then use my kettle for grilling and BBq. OR I will get the Searwood for my smoker and grill.

Introducing the newest member of the family

The ones that came with it along with the ones you are purchasing, seem to me to be the most valuable. It looks like you really got yourself a nice set up at a great price! Congratulations!

    WSM vs Summit Kamado

I have cooked on both the WSM and WSK. I was an early adopter of the WSK, bought it when Weber first came out with it back in 2016, at that time it was the Weber Summit Charcoal Grill (WSCG). I sold my WSCG in 2020, not because I wanted to, but Covid lock downs hit me hard (economically), sad...

Introducing the newest member of the family

I like that model. I have thought to myself that If I ever went the offset smoker route, that would be the one I would buy. Is that the 36" or the 42"? Did it come with any of the LSG upgrades for that model?

Looking at the 22" WSM -- couple questions

Looking at the 22" WSM -- couple questions

WSM 22" on sale now at Amazon, the 18" is not I have had the 18" since 2009. It has served me well. I even competed in a local BBQ competition using it and made Ribs, PorkButt, and Chicken, simultaniously on the 18" (Got second in Chicken, in case you were wondering). I am now considering a...

    Kevin Costner's Horizon Trailer

I will be honest, when I read the title of this thread I was expecting to see that Costner put his name on an RV (trailer) company, named his first model Horizon. Paul Neuman salad dressing style. Glad to learn that he is sticking with what he does well.

SmokeFire EPX6 Stealth Addition - On Sale

This is a common approach for developing software, but a more problematic approach when applied to develop “hard” products. One of the more humorous illustrations of this was a quote from a former CEO of GM (I think) made in the early 2000’s. At one point it was brought to his attention that...
