Smoker Thermometer?

I'd like to add a transmitting thermometer to my WSM. NOT the kind that monitors the meat temp and tells you when its done... Just one that can give me the internal air temp. I have one of the former and it doesn't work for me because you have to specify a target temp (190 or less), and it beeps when it nears, reaches, or exceeds that temp...don't want to listen to beeping all day. Just want to be able to check the cooker temp without going outside . Any suggestions? TIA.

I just bought and used a cheap transmitting thermometer at Wal-Mart for $16. It does have the annoying alarm, but you can set the alarm threshold as high as you want, so it's a non issue. I just put the probe through a ball of foil, ran the lead out under the WSM lid, and put the transmitter in a Ziploc bag and under an upside-down Tupperware container on the ground (in case of rain). I am REALLY happy with it, especially for the price. It was out in the "garden" section of my Wal-Mart, near the grills and BBQ tools.
