That’s commitment. I usually have the new one up and running before selling the previous. Anxiously awaiting your review.

    EX6 - Not loving it

Jacob. I’ve had a number of pellet grills and can tell you that 90 percent of your graph looks great IF the average would have been close to the set point. What happened around 12:30 and 3:00 are big questions. Like Greg mentioned above, where was the ambient monitor probe? If it’s not within...

    New Searwood pic.

I was tempted by the Masterbuilt too, many times. However, their reputation curbed the temptation to play with a product that I thought looked fun and innovative. If you can really only use it for a smoker, because it will wear out in months at high temps then it seems there’s a lot of better...

You smoking a turkey for Thanksgiving?

I’m really not quite an empty nester yet, but will be just the wife and I for Thanksgiving this year. Kids are off with their boy/girl/friends, in-laws snow birding already, and my parents are gone. I’ve never been one to eat something just because of tradition, so pulled a small prime rib out...

Adapting gas grill recipes for SmokeFire

It’s not affiliated with Weber at all, scroll to the bottom of the first page and read the disclaimer. It even had a different name and URL originally. Think it was WeberPelletGrills IIRC.

Adapting gas grill recipes for SmokeFire

Look for LumberJack pellets. Very affordable and many believe they make the Weber pellets. My local grocery store carries them even. Outside of CookinPellets and Lumberjack, most other brands are 70-80% oak or alder for single species pellets. Meaning ‘Hickory’ pellets are often 80% oak, 20%...

    New Release, MEATER 2

@Jon B I completely missed your post last night. Do you have a Combustion thermo? If so, what don’t you like about it? I love mine and I have a Meater+ that I’ve never been overly fond of and only used for rotisserie. The Combustion app was very simplified at launch, but has a lot more features...

    New Release, MEATER 2

Joe, I have the range booster and display. I put the booster out near the grill and the display sits it the kitchen and then can get the signal through the whole house, even in the basement.

    New Release, MEATER 2

I’ll take my Combustion Predictive Thermometer and not worry about the instant read to verify it most of the time since it has 8 sensors to find the true cold spot/center. I’m a huge Fireboard fan and have a Thermapen One and have used the Fireboard like twice since the Combustion showed up. The...

    Summit Kamado grate height?

The WSCG/WSK is not a Jumbo Joe. Something is different in regards to the angle of the lid, the lid hinge, or the depth of the grate lip (where the rotisserie sits) in comparison. It could even be that the gasket sits on the bowl of the Joe and on the lid of the Weber. I didn’t care to analyze...

    Weber Summit Charcoal Rotisserie

If you are interested in the Joetisserie, I put a couple posts in a thread staring here: https://tvwbb.com/threads/summit-kamado-grate-height.86954/post-975420

    Weber Summit Charcoal Rotisserie

It will with modification, that’s what I did. It’s about $280 now though. You just have to grind the back 1/3rd of the bottom lip until the lid will close.

    EX4 Not Starting

Without a visual, that sounds like it could be the problem. I’d maybe buy a fresh bag of another brand of pellets and see if the same build up occurs no matter if you wish to call it ash or caking or caked ash. If it still occurs could be the fan or something else impeding the airflow so the...

    EX4 Not Starting

@ChuckO Brings up a good point and your sig saying 2020 SmokeFire begs the question, do you still have the original gen 1 auger chute? It was known to collect pellet fines/dust causing problems. Weber redesigned the part to improve that.

    EX4 Not Starting

Different pellets create different amounts of ash. This particular pellet could require more cleaning because of the ash it produces. It could even be a batch of pellets not at usual standards, like more bark, higher moisture, etc. The SmokeFire software could have improvements in the shutdown...
