    FYI - MicroDamper + 22"WSM + HeaterMeter + AirBurner = Fail

Ralph is correct, it's 3/4" Copper and thanks! I didn't have enough holes drilled to sustain higher than about 255 deg during my cook last night so I'm going with the pipe only to compare on the next one. Trial and error :) I wonder if I could use diameter of the holes to know exactly how many I...

    FYI - MicroDamper + 22"WSM + HeaterMeter + AirBurner = Fail

Indeed. Should have trusted my intuition but there's a strong urge to over-engineer which I did by not using what came w/ the kit :)

    INTRODUCING: the "Roto Damper"

Same... Got stoked about it after realizing the MicroDamper can't push through the bends in the AirBurner....

Need advice for high temp in 22 WSM

Thanks Dave! I removed my manifold last night during a cook and swapped in the blower vice the microdamper and it kept 300 deg all night without issue. You are the man! @Darren Try removing the manifold before resorting to adding lid vents. The 22 is leaky as-is so you shouldn't have an...

    Blower fan adapter

Real talk, Duct Tape. I used the Gorilla Brand in a pinch. Otherwise, you can print the rotodamper if you have access to a 3D Printer. If not, you can certainly order the printed part from Thingiverse. If you're really, really tight, l'll print you one and mail it ;)

    FYI - MicroDamper + 22"WSM + HeaterMeter + AirBurner = Fail

Greetings All, TLDR; The MicroDamper fan can't flow enough air through the bends on the Air Burner so use the blower provided in the HeaterMeter Kit. Got fancy and figured, why not use the MicroDamper. Foolish move. This configuration had literally zero effect on the grill temp. Had I known, I...

Need advice for high temp in 22 WSM

Dave, I'm having the exact same issue Darren is but I suspect cold air is the culprit. Was grilling yesterday while it was snowing and was either far overshooting or undershooting my target temp of 300 deg. Would you mind describing or sending a couple pics of your fan/damper setup? I'm using...

Bought HeaterMeter and 3D Printed Enclosure While Awaiting Arrival

What a world we live in. Purchase the HeaterMeter kit online, send the STLs to the printer same day while you wait on the parts to arrive. Technology has come such a long way! Printed at 195deg w/ Black PLA directly to glass w/ spray adhesive. Bed temp 50 deg C. Print time was about 4.5 hours...
