I think I just figured out what may have happen.
Two men from work hauled it in a pickup.
I bet it got dropped & landed one two legs with one leg taking most of the hit.
I
Have 2009 - 26” Kettle.
Two places inside the bowl is protruding where legs are supported.
Hard to measure.
Worst spot protrudes approx. 1/8” to 3/16”.
Ash sweeper rises up as it goes over protrusion. Now sweeper bent up & don’t seal.
Any suggestions.
If I grind it down I think it would...
Yes sir I know they’re not air tight.
My 2008 ish 18 leaked a tad & seal itself.
I read here about the bad leaks on some 22’s & not sealing itself. Making it harder to control temps.
I just wonder if there was a smaller hole (door) cut out, if it would help. Barrel may be getting out of...
Do the 22 still have leaking top side door & barrel to base?
Seams to me the whole problem is the door is way too big for that thin of material. Smaller door may fix both problems. I sure Weber had already tried that…..,don’t know
I wish I never seen this sale. I do not need it. But killing me not too buy. The comments here about leaks at top door and bottom joint is so far holding me from buying.
I don’t like cooking on the bottom grate. I could do everything on the top grate of 22.
I also like cooking w/ no water...
I just put charcoal in the basket, light center of coals w/ small hand propane torch. Takes 2-3 minutes w/ torch. Let burn 3 ish minutes, put together, turn Guru on & walkway.
Had storage room fire.
Two rotisserie motors didn't fair too well.
My local Weber dealer only sells the complete Weber 2290 Ring, Split & motor.
Any tips where to find a replacement?
Thanks guys.
