    My Mods

I’ve not had any issue with the legs this far, however my smoker has its place and generally does not move more than a few feet between set up, cook, and clean up. Even then I am dealing with relatively stable brick (no grass transitions)

I have not had any significant issues with the Arborfab basket being too close to the bottom vents. It does make it a little more difficult to get the spring clip in all the way (you may have to adjust the basket and the clip together when setting up), and taking it out was a pain (clip can...

Here is a better picture of the standoff. The holes allow airflow to dissipate heat so that is should be nominal by the time it gets to the base. It's made of steel, (Not stainless), that I've painted black but did not clear coat at the time.

I'll try to get a picture of that this weekend, but it is simply a spring that forms a V which you compress, push through the hole, then adjust the seal on the outside of the unit to insure a good seal. One thing I noticed though is that my 3rd vent would not seal with tape because of all the...

Leakage with the stock door and gasket was just too much, the sealing from smoke and heat leakage is a lot less with the lava lock. Only downside is that it puts more weight forward on the middle section which can make it harder to handle even with the garage door handles on the side. The...

    My Mods

I absolutely love the lava lock door. My WSM did not need to be opened up anymore in my opinion so I did no angle grinding, I suppose I could have, but I just did not think I was going to gain that much more space. It may be different on the 18. It took a few days to get the paint right...

    Weber Chimney Safety

I find my Smokey Joe is the perfect size for setting my chimney on and it looks like it belongs too.

    1985 Weber Fireplace NIB

I picked up a new one last fall for $125 shipped. They still use wood handles on it. Just picked up a cover for it too from Target just last week. Love my Weber Fireplace. Especially on those cold mornings when I get up to start smoking at 4am.

    Butts in LA?

I think Smart and Final is the place to go for Butts. You've got 2 off of PCH in Long Beach.

    Better stock up

From today's Des Moines Register. "There appears to be adequate supplies of hams in cold storage as the big Easter demand approaches, but pork bellies, from which bacon is made, are below last year’s levels in the nation’s cold storage facilities. The monthly U.S. Cold Storage report by the...

    Commercial sauces and rubs

Rubs I'm still experimenting with. Sauces: I love the Original from Brothers BBQ, but they make a Tangy Vinegar that is very good, as well as a Hot, a Sweet, and a Carolina Mustard Sauce. These guys basically give you your choice of the country for your style of BBQ. I think you can only get...

Make your own eyelets/grommets for under $5

Newbie 22.5 owner with naive question... Will the 1/8 inch grommets work with the ET-732 probes? I've also seen 1/4 inch lamp kits available as well, but I did not want to make bigger holes than absolutely necessary. Thanks,

    I got it! Maverick ET-732

It's 59.99 plus shipping from 5-0 BBQ right now.
