That's what I used. The only caveat is that they rust faster than stainless steel. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>
I've got the bottom cut out, holes drilled and painted it. Kind of a crappy paint job but it was getting dark and I was impatient but I think it will work out great. I cut the whole bottom...
All I could find were 18.5 weber charcoal grates at lowe's and home depot. Will these be ok to use as cooking grates also? They are almost the same diameter as the smokey joe cooking grate.
I'll be the lip around the lid is too big its not an out of round issue. Strange this is the same imusa 32qt tamale steamer i've read about. It's about a 1/2 in too big around in diameter for the lid of my SJS. Instead of fooling with it I'm going to try to return it and get another pot. I'm...
Hello everyone. I'm going to start building my mini wsm this week. I have a SJS and i got the imusa pot that's made in china. It fits perfect in the sjs but the lid doesn't quite fit on top. Did anyone crimp around the top of the steamer pot to get the lid to sit on it perfectly? I'm not...
Update: I sanded down the lid yesterday to bare aluminum and repainted it with the almond color rustoleum high heat. I'm going to fire it up today and see if it does not peel off like previously. I really like the color of the almond on the lid by the way. I'll keep you guys updated.
Just FYI I did paint the lid but I'm not happy with it. The paint is peeling off for some reason. I think the best thing to do is sand the lid very well first then paint. It looked perfect until I put some heat on it. It is high temp bbq paint rated to 1200 degrees so its got to be that it...
Well I bought the paint already. I'm going to go semi-gloss black. It's high heat ultra grill paint from Rustoleum. 1200 degree paint. I plan to lightly rough up the lid and then give it a good coat of this black paint. I'm a fan of the European black version of the Q grills so I think it's...
Has anyone ever painted the lid of their Q? Reason I ask is mine has been stained since a grease fire a while back. Nothing cleans it and believe me I've tried. What if I just painted the lid with the Rustoleum high temp grill paint? Any reason why that wouldn't work? Plus europe has some...
Wow this really took off I love it! Got to give credit where credit is due though. This actually came from a friend of mine Gordon who gave me the original idea. He made a homemade batter which some of you have already done. I even crusted a boneless thigh with panko and cooked it the same...
Just an update I called Weber and a new valve and regulator is on its way no questions asked. Guess it wasn't just me it seems the regulator had gone bad. First time calling Weber customer service and it was great.
Thanks Pat! I tried moving it but same thing. I bought another Q for $40 Saturday off CL as a gift for someone. I'd keep it but its so clean and is going to make a great gift. I tried that Q with the propane tank and it fires up and burns like a champ. So mine is definately not working...
