Howdy folks...

I was lucky enough to get my hands on one of the first WSM Stackers by www.probbq.co.uk . (Thank you, Ian )

Its ans extra Ring with grate and access door for the Weber Smokey Mountain Cooker (WSM).

It seems to be of the same quality as the WSM and fits exactly with no air leaks.

Heres some pics :

The ring is 30cm/12 " tall when its mounted on a WSM.

Finally, a door that wont fall out.

I like the grate Quality even more than the Weber ones (so far, without having cooked on it)

The Stacker comes with two Handles. They might get hot while in use, so better use gloves. Anyway, hot handles are way better than no handle at all like on the WSM.

Thermometer/Probe Eyelet slightly above the grate.

So far, i like this Stacker very much. Seems like the whole WSM world has been waiting for it.
I´ll see how it performs later on, as i´ll be cooking a butt and some ribs overnight and tomorrow.

Nice report, and a very interesting product. I'll be looking forward to the results after you've cooked with it!

That looks awsome, love the hinge on the door.

So upon further research I find the WSM not listed/mentioned anywhere on the ProQ linked site. I find the cookers Amigo, Buckaroo, and Frontier. So it's my guess that the stacker fits all 3 of those and the WSM also?

Afaik, the stacker will be available in the US soon. Its specially made for the WSM, as the frontier/buckaroo have a slighty smaller diameter.

I just put on the meat, so i´ll keep you posted with information.

Btw, I noticed that you can turn the stacker upside down and then it fits exactly and absolutely tight on the 18" Weber Kettles 8)

The final product will hopefully have grate supports on both sides, so you can use it as an ectension for weber kettles, too. Also comes in handy when youre cooking beer can chicken or other tall fod, and you can also insert two grates to cook lots of flat food on the WSM or 28" kettle.

Imho, this unit is also the perfect base for a rotisserie modification.

Heres the pics of my red one touch silver and, even cooler, my smokey joe platinum.

Don'

Pls post where, how much etc as soon as the stacker becomes available in the US. I definitely need a couple of them.

Many thanks.

I don't understand the need for the door on these extension units. They do not appear to be equipped to hold a water pan, and the charcoal pan cannot be reached from above the WSM top grate.

Any ideas on the purpose of the door?

The door comes handy for mopping or spraying the food without having to take the lid off, or for checking the temperature of the meat with a thermapen.

Afaik you can also turn the stacker upside down and use it on the WSM without the WSM middle section. Ill check that later. The final product will definately have brackets for more grates and a waterpan.

"Breasts" on a bore.

Plus - The thermapen makes sense, but I use a wireless probe.

Minus - I don't need another large hole for air to get in and smoke to get out.

Non factors - There is not enough access to spray or mop much meat. Cost to add the door is probably minimal.

Based only on the photo, I think the door is probably a better fit, and less leaky, than the WSM door. I doubt if there would be enough air leakage to make this a "minus", at least IMO.

This is exactly what everyone needs. Those 3 butts, 6 ribs, 2 brisket cooks will never be the same

Russell, went to their website and tried to see what it would cost in the US. They don't have US of A listed to be able to ship to
