To paint or not to paint

I got a free replacement lid from Weber for my 22.5" OTG and I noticed it has a very small chip underneath where I guess they solder the lid handle to the lid. It's on the underside like I said, so I'm sure it will be covered with a generous coating of grease after a few grillings. Should I paint it before I do my first grill? It's smaller than a dime. If so, which high-temp spray paint is the best?

I would call CS and tell them that the lid had a chip in it when you received it. I am sure that they will replace it for you.

Called CS and as usual, excellent cs. They asked me to just set the chipped lid in the box outside of my house with a sign that says "For Weber" and Fed/Ex will pick it. They shipped out another lid yesterday.

What frustrates me a little, is that this is the 2nd bad lid. THe original was out of round, the replacement was chipped. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for this 3rd lid.
