Sour Pickle Recipe?

Does anyone have a sour pickle recipe? I have a good friend of mine thats a little older that says he loves sour pickles and he cant find any good ones. I told him that if I had the cucumbers from my garden I would try to make them. Any help would be appreciated.

I tried Alton's recipe @ http://www.foodnetwork.com/rec...es-recipe/index.html link The flavor was good if a bit spicy. I made a couple mistakes... I fermented it longer than the recipe and used young english cucumbers rather than regular cucumbers. The net result was hollow pickles?!? I didn't know they could do that, but the center was gone... Anyway, the texture of eating a hollow cucumber is not what I was after. It did make a great relish after turn in the food processor.

Anyway, I'm not an expert, but my first attempt was easy anyway.

And I have a ton of spicy relish in the freezer.

This is the recipe I will try this summer:

It's worth doing and I encourage you to share how it comes out.

I have seen the second link before and was thinking of trying that one. I just dont have the leaves really handy except maybe the oak. I only have maybe six cukes in the garden that are the right size but I have a bunch that are right on there heels so I think I have a week or so to do some research. Thanks for the help.
