I managed to get a week in of fun during my assignment. Actually I had a good time everywhere I went, but I do like Playa car, it's like Hawaii, but half the price

BEAUTIFUL pictures! I'm scrolling through the pictures, I'm thinking, Ahh, beautiful Mexico.. and then I come to the picture of the Shawarma..and I think..Mexican Shawarma?? This is Mexico, right? What kind of meat was on the Shawarma?

That's actually Al' Pastor tacos. The first picture is the meat being cooked using gas, the second picture are the tacos that came off it. I got hooked on Al' Pastor tacos in Cabo at Pepe's (they have a Pepe's in Puerto Vallarta too)

Ironically, I picked up a wood burning cooker for making Al' Pastor tacos in Australia, I hope to get it put up and cooking off in before Thanksgiving, pictures to follow

I did not realize the picture below the Shawarma spit was All Pastor tacos. I just saw the Shawarma spit and thought I was not in Mexico after all!
I had no idea that they used that kind of spit in Mexico, but after looking it up, I see they adopted the Shawarma spit from Lebanese immigrants coming to Mexico.
Nevertheless, beautiful pictures.. just looking at them, was a " Calgone take me away" moment. And the tacos looked good too! I mistakenly took them for carnitas tacos.
