BBq store in NY Manhattan

Hi everybody!
I'll go in NY in October and I would like to buy something for bbq 'cause here, in Italy, is difficult to find this kind of stuff and is really expensive...if someone know about any good shop in manhattan please help me, thanks!

if you want meat its gonna be expensive, and if you want tools/gizmos my guess is that if you can find them they are gonna be pricey because of the very restrictive laws regarding grilling in NYC. if you are going to be there long enough you MIGHT want to consider ordering stuff from online source have it shiped to you in NYC and only open it and break it in when you get back (provided its not too big)

general kitchen things ( tongs, spatula's etc) the list is almost infinite.

Yes, the list is infinite!
i'm looking for the Maverick termometer, books and rubs at the moment...

If you are looking for small stuff, I'd contact where you are planning to stay, see if they will hold a package for you ( most will if you have an existing reservation) and order it online before you leave and it will be waiting for you when you get there.

You will likely have to contact your credit card company and authorize shipping to an alternate address. This way you get what you want and if you happen to stumble on something while you are in NYC ( which always seems to happen to me) then that's a bonus.

I hope you have a great time.

Penzeys has good rubs, but they dont have a location in NYC as it closed. They have one roughly 30 minutes away (west nyack or in NJ) if you have access to a car. They do ship for free over $30 and always throw in something for free - also look for coupon codes for free items.

While, there are a lot of spice shops in NYC, a lot of them specialize in certain types (african, middle eastern, etc)...

Sullivan street tea and spice is suppose to be a good replacement for Penzeys

Here is another, little pricey but supposed to be good and have a location in Grand Centra Market (replaced penzeys).

They have a lot of specific bbq rubs on their site, not sure about the store.
