I've built a Smokey Joe (Silver) mini-UDS using a 60-liter drum:
Now I want to add a Auber 6.5 CFM blower, but I can't find anyone who has done this. I'm struggling with how to fit this blower so it blows air under the coal basket which is on the original coal rack of the SJ.
Can anyone advise on how to do this? I can see a few options:
1. drill a hole in the kettle (where?) and attach the blower
I don't like cutting holes in a Weber, I must be pretty sure where to drill it
2. drill a hole in the drum and attach a pipe to have the air blown beneath the coals
Looks like a complicated solution
3. drill a hole in the drum and put the coal basket above the hole
I now have two grates, doing this reduces my capacity to 1 grate and kind of defeats the purpose of having a SJ on the bottom of the UDS
4. ????
