Which thermometer to believe? Big swing between WSM and Maverick

Long story short - I've got the 22.5" WSM and a Maverick ET732.

The WSM temperature gauge is always consistently about 50 - 60 degrees less than the ET732 (if I dangle the ET732 inside one of the top exhaust holes of the WSM). Is this normal?

I haven't done any ice cube or boiling water tests on the ET732, but the differential in temperature is significant enough to cause some issues. What do you think?

I think man with two watches never knows what time it really is. lol Here's my Maverick probe clipped to the cooking grate. I go with the Maverick readings.
