How do you clean your probes


 
A damp cloth as soon as it's pulled out of the meat/off the grill.

Dry with a cloth and let them cool down. No more, no less.
 
I don't care about that, just the food particles. Once they're black, well really, who cares? Only concern would be esthetics, not function nor health.

You have to be pretty gentle with them. I just wipe the meat probe off making sure there are no food particles on it. Make sure you do not get any water on the end where the wire feeds into the probe.
