Boston butts cooked on a 5 hour window, can it be done?

Going on a tailgate and will only have 5 or 6 hours of smoking time available. Will that be enough time? Should I cheat and put in the oven for a few hours first? Will probably do two butts in the mini.

yes, you will have to go super hot. Do not put any sugar in the rub as will will burn at hotter temps.

Yes it can be done. Smoke at 300-350 no water in the pan-foil only.

there was a guy at the bbq comp I did in Helen, GA who cooked all his meats at 450.

@ 275 I'm a tad over an hour per lb. That is with no water and only the steamer diffuser. Going up towards 325 i'm sure you can cut that down to 45 minutes.

Oh you can also cut both of them in half which will speed things up.
