Beefalo?

Beefalo was touted as being healthier for us, less fat and less cholesterol than regular beef.
I have not seen it in any stores here in Illinois. Are there any Beefalo grillers here, and where
do you find it?
 
a friend and her husband raise beefalo and I had the pleasure of trying a few steaks and burgers.
although, I have not seen it available to the public in these parts....
very lean.
grill it less time than beef.
not as flavourful as beef.
 
Are you talking about buffalo? Excuse my ignorance, I am still learning the lingo....

If so, I use it a lot and it is awesome! It has a really good clean beef taste. It is fairly easy to find it ground at most grocery stores, but steaks and other cuts are harder to find in my area.

Much leaner though and need to be careful not to overcook, or just make extra sauce to compensate...works great in chili!
 
They tell me that the beefalo is more flavorful than buffalo and not as dry, yet still healthier
than regular beef. Looks like a ride to Michigan will be coming soon, they raise some there.
