hi larry,

heading to charlotte for work, thought I'd make the trip to lexington. I've been to lex #1 and want to give this a try.

What's good here? thinking about coarse brown...

I always get just a regular chopped sandwich. The one time I ordered "coarse chopped" was at another Lexington restaurant, Smokey Joe's. The meat was, in my opinion, not chopped at all, nor pulled, but was cut in cubes and I didn't care for the texture at all.

Bar B Q Center reportedly has excellent banana splits, but I have never had a big enough appetite to tackle one.
 
thanks...if my meeting runs over, is there something closer to charlotte that's great? I've read the whispering pine is good but that's still about an hour away.
 
I don't know of any good bbq in the Charlotte area since EBs closed. I was going to suggest that you check on Chowhound, but unless I miss my guess, you're vinouspleasure and you've already done that.
