Enjoyed dinner at local supper club Joey Gerard's in Greendale Wisconsin last Wednesday and tried one of their specialty cocktails:
Joey's Martini
It was soo good, I stopped by my local liquor store last night to buy the ingredients.
Death's Door Gin, Death’s Door Vodka, Cocchi Americano Vermouth Bianco

Death's Door
is distilled locally in Wisconsin, not sure if everyone will find it.
And, Cocchi Americano Aperitif, also may not be easy to find. For that, the bartender did tell me where I could buy it.

Anyway, the schematic is, in a shaker with ice add:
2 parts Death's Door GIN
2 parts Death's Door VODKA
1 part Cocchi Americano Aperitif

Shake, strain into a martini glass.
Garnish with orange peel.
Enjoy.

I was all set to go on a rant about martinis even before opening your post but low and behold it's an actual martini. One of my pet peeves are all these fancy drinks that they pass off as martinis and charge an arm and a leg for. If it has more than gin, vodka and vermouth in it than it's a COCKTAIL not a Martini. Great looking Martini Jim.

I getcha Bob, the name "martini" is shared with many different concoctions, even without drinking: they make my head spin.
My idea of THE martini is real - top quality Gin and a drop of vermouth, olives if available.

The recipe above intrigued me so, I needed to the spend 7 clams to taste it.
However, my original
