Maverick Pit Probe / Food Probe Question

I'm pleading ignorance here,

Am I supposed to order a pit probe or a food probe for my pit temp sensor? The one linked to amazon is a food probe.

You can use a food probe as a pit probe. Basically the difference is that the pit probe is flat on the end and the food probe is pointed and longer. Either will work as your pit probe, but it would be kinda hard to use a pit probe for food as it is not pointed.

Typically when you buy the pit probe it comes with a little clip that lets you clip the probe to a food grate. I like the clip.

Which Maverick? I have the ET732. I just bought 2 Hi-bred probes (straight, no bend) for $25. Can be used for pit or food.
