Top too big.


 
I returned pot to Target. Inside diameter of Smokey Joe lid is 14 5/8. The outside diameter of the pot was 14 11/16 just a smidgen too large. The top of your pot needs to be just under the 14 5/8. If your lid is not perfectly round, you should be able to squeeze it a little to fit.
 
I ordered a Vasconia pot from Amazon over the weekend. This is a popular pot that is guaranteed to fit.
 
I have the pot from Target, I just used some pliers to crimp the top roll until the lid fit. I ahve noticed the pot swells a little when it's hot so the lid sticks just a little so I may need to crimp a little more.
 
I just received my Vasconia pot from Amazon yesterday and the fit is perfect, top and bottom.

My IMUSA (target) pot was also a hair too big. Since I have a lot of woodworking clamps, I gently squeezed the top perimeter of the pot. All is good and took about 2 minutes. If I build another one, I'll most likely order the Vasconia from Amazon.
