Hello folks. I just ordered my first smoker, a 18.5 Weber Smokey Mountain. I am from Texas and love bbq but have only really done direct heat cooking before. I look forward to sharing my experiences and learning from yours.
 
I received my wsm a few weeks ago and have loved cooking on it. Once you get the temp controlled by using the vents its a spectacular smoker. I love mine. The resources and advice here is great too.
 
Thanks folks. I am in Houston out towards Sugarland Tim. I'm not sure yet Rolf, I got Low & Slow as a gift too and am thinking I might walk through that first. I'm at work but I believe the first thing to cook in the book is chicken.
