Got The Bird Brining

Pammi Sue and I went out the other day and bought all our Christmas fixings. We got a 13 pounder all natural,unadulterated bird and a spiral sliced ham. Pammi looked at the the label and started squawking when she saw that it "may contain up to"! I looked a little closer and it was water from processing that was the rest of the sentence! It's brining in an almost standard brine;water,salt sugar. I like to add a little onion and garlic powder just for fun!
The bird is getting a compound butter under the skin and some aromatics inside,then a spin on the Genesis. The ham is going on the WSM with some of that yummy bourbon/brown sugar glaze Mr. A put on here a couple years ago! Pics to come later!
