Looks like they are moving fast with this one...

from the readme,

".........Stoker Firmware Revision History:
February 12, 2009: Version 2.6.0.57
Overhaul of socket interface......."

To make it clear, unless you are developing software to interface with the Stoker on the network,

YOU DO NOT WANT THIS SOFTWARE.

Alpha is a long way from safe and this offers no fixes for any existing issues.

Is the HTTP server still available on the upgrade? </div></BLOCKQUOTE>
The HTTP server is (documented to be) available when not suspended by the socket based services.

I will be looking into it late next week.

The outline of the operation indicates that software on a remote computer can essentially put all the standard services (front panel UI and HTTP server) to sleep and evaluate the sensors and activate the fan(s) until it restores the normal operating mode.

The normal operating mode will also be restored on command error or disconnection (or power off).

This release is more of a hint of the future that depends on development by third parties before the typical user will enjoy any fruits.

Alpha quality software is, as always, not for the faint of heart, particularly when it delivers no immediate benefits except to the geekiest of us.

You should expect more releases before useful third party software becomes available, so there is no hurry or value in an early upgrade.
