I was raised in the area and though I've never been to this place before, this is the kind of BBQ joint I recall as a kid. I had the brisket, ribs (pork), and sausage and two sides (baked beans and fried okra). The first stop along the cafeteria style tray slide is the meat cutter, then you slide your tray along the 15 or so selection of side items. The brisket and ribs had a nice bark to it, were very tender, but the flavor was subdued without the sauce which was a tomatoe based vinegar sauce.
It is located in an industrial portion of town but is a couple minutes convenient to I-635. The portions were generous and the drinks were bottomless. The staff was as friendly as I expect from the area.
All in all, a great experience, good food, food atmosphere, and good company.
