mini wsm build

Hey everyone, I'm a long time visitor first time poster. I've been visiting the site over a year and built a mini wsm back last year. It has been used several times and is wonderful for camping trips. I've smoked several butts, turkeys and even peppers
I fired it up today for a small butt and thought it would be a good time to post some pics

Question...the thermometer is turned slightly. Is that so that 250* is at 12:00 high, so its easier to tell when you are at your target temp? (Like the gauges in a race car)
Just wondering.

It's turned because it was a little lose and I snugged it by hand before I started today
