Howdy All;

As I have gone with a straight sided pot with thicker walls (3/16")
I'd like to ask how high up from the bottom of the tamale pot is the
groove that the steamer plate sits on? Just sit the pot on something,
and measure it from the outside please...Thinking of installing some
bolts at that level ...
Thanks...

From the bottom: the groove starts at 2~3/16", and ends at 3~1/16"

Thanks for the fast reply. So, I could safely presume the ledge the for the steamer plate (with the holes), would be
at the 2 5/8" level ???

Thanks again for the quick reply.

I think that would be a safe assumption. A 16th probably won't make much of a difference ;)
Are you going to do three levels of grates or two?

Chad, Howdy;

I've got 2 sets of bolts in it right now. Thinking that if I don't need/want to use the CI grates I've got
for the bottom heatsink I can mount my pie pan on a grate set at the lowest level. Just didn't want it
slam on the bottom like the CI do.... Does that make sense???
