Hello,

I'm a longtime Weber gas grill (Silver Genesis-B) user. Today, I just received and assembled my new 22.5" WSM. :) I'm looking forward to cooking low & slow during fall weekends. I'm undecided still on the first meats to smoke. I think I will smoke both a Boston Butt and brisket.

The WSM came with a cover. When not in use, I plan to keep the WSM right next to my grill outside. I have a grill cover but don't use it because it seems to collect more moisture/condensation and takes longer to dry out. Any opinions on using covers?

For members in the NVa area, where do you go to get primal cuts of meat?

Later,

Hi Gene and welcome aboard.

Try a butt (or a picnic) for your first cook, it's easy and tastes great.

i keep the air vents cracked in all my Webers so I don't have to worry about mold forming. i use premium Weber covers and they are under a covered patio.

Welcome aboard and a butt is a great choice for a first cook!!
