Old time pork barbecue at 109 E. Davie Street serving at least since I was a boy in the late '40s. They used to serve pork skins, too.

Clyde Cooper's is great - Eastern NC style BBQ - though not whole hog. They cook hams and shoulders. Really cheap bbq sandwich, fries and drink special daily. They are moving after like 70+ years in the same location, but just around the corner and still in downtown Raleigh.

Pork skins there still - really, really good. They have some of the best hush puppies ever. Fried chicken there too is great. Ribs are hit or miss.
