I've been lurking here forever, but I don't think I've ever actually posted. Just put a 11-pound butt on my Smoky Mountain (largest butt to date!) and I thought that I'd take this opportunity to post and say howdy. Really love this site.
 
I am a bit of a procrastinator, that's all! Been reading the website for a good long while. Haven't done any smoking this year, until today. Thinking of trying a high heat brisket soon, but I don't think it'll happen until September at this point, with vacation coming up.
 
Hey Dave! I'm relatively new here but I just want to say welcome and I look forward to some pics and recipes that we all can share, this is a great place, Welcome!
 
Not really well. 10 hours after start, and it was only about 150 internal. I brought it into the over and cooked it until about 165 or so, and then I sliced it instead of pulled it. Better luck next time, I guess. First time I've tried a butt that big. Learning experience.
