so i tested my 12" terracotta (finally)and it does not have any lead.so im gonna try it on my next smoke.
for anyone interested,lowes has these and they are easy to use,and it only takes a few minutes.

ok did my first smoke with the pot inside the water pan(larry r. style) and i liked it.i think ill do a permanite switch.
