I see the notes about determining age of the WSM, but I have a OTG and Performer which are both stamped with the letter "R". The OTG was purchased around 07/2000 (wedding present from the wife). So it might be a 1999 or 2000 model, but it could be older. Does anybody have this info??

BTW - cleaned them both today, they look so nice.

The Simpson model was out about the same time, I almost bought one.

No idea about an "R" code, seems completely out of sequence.

The Performer will have an actual serial number, on a white sticker. Mine all have it on the bottom of the control pan (where you turn the gas on and off). Others have found it elsewhere, stuck to the square frame tubes.

My '99 has EE on the vent stamp, and the serial number is "EE ######".

And, Yeah, they do look great...Happy Grilling.

Doug - mystery solved -

I reexamined my grills:

Performer EZ - 1988
OTG - DD 2000

R (with a circle around it) - registered

!!

When I first looked at the grill I did not see the letters.
