How to get rub to stick to nuts

I like Dr. Pepper rub on roasted almonds. What options are best to get the rub to stick?

Spray olive oil?
Egg wash?
Bake it on in the roasting process...?

Steve, Here's one way Bill Canon of Texas BBQ Rubs likes to heat them up and use honey. I prefer the heating which brings out some of the natural oil in the nutts and butter. But yes you can use oil if you want.
