Spot welds and porcelain chipping

Hi Mike!
Every used kettle I've come across seems to have rusting or porcelain chipping around the handle brackets or leg sockets, it doesn't seem to matter what color kettle they are its all areas that are spot welded. Granted some of mine are over 30 years old right up to a couple 2004 WSM's. Just wondering if its ever been brought to Webers attention?

Weber is always considering the porcelain process and refining it with modern standards and formulas.

The guys that run Huntley were my favorite bunch and i loved working out there with them. I'll drop them a note and they will add it to their list, i'm sure.

the areas you you mention either take a bump or are a sharp edge or nook where it's tough to get even coverage.

Good points!

Mike
