Waffle Iron

Just thought I'd post about our new waffle maker - a vintage Sunbeam CG waffle maker and grill - that we got from toastercentral.com. What a handsome chrome appliance - with a mirror-like finish.

The 9" square waffle is divided into quarters which fit the toaster just fine when you have leftovers. You can flip the grill plates if you want to use it to grill sandwiches, etc. If you're looking for a reliable, USA-made waffle baker with lots of vintage vibe, check out toastercentral.com.

Thanks for the tip. I'd like to eventually pick up one that actually gets hot enough to do the job right. I like that it will do other stuff with the plates flipped as well.

Tom - the Sunbeam CG has a temperature control dial. You can cook a crisp waffle if you want to. Michael at toastercentral included a small pamphlet of "vintage" waffle recipes from old cook books. They make 100s-1000s of waffles in the course of refurbishing/testing their vintage appliances.

I'll take a photo maybe later today.
