I would like to try chicken on a throne. Rather than crafting the throne out of a beer can, I have looked around and found a poultry roaster called "willies chicken sitter". It is a plastic throne that has an opening to pour liquid in and then set the chicken on. They only place I can find them is at the BBQ store http://www.barbecue-store.com/ but unfortunatly I have had poor results ordering in the past from this store. Does anyone know of another source to buy this product? The only other roasters I have seen are made from wire and will not hold liquids as Willies does. Thanks.

John

I've got one of those wire "thrones" that is large enough to put a beer can inside. You might consider that approach. You could put any liquid you want inside a beer or soda can.(I've also got a turkey-size one that my daughter gave me, but I haven't tried it out yet.)

This may be a little late, but I bought my Willie's Chicken Sitters in July from Goode Co., BBQ Hall of Flame, 5015 Kirby, Houston, TX 77098, (713) 643-5263.

They're 12.99 each for the chicken size. They also have the turkey size and wild game size (I suppose that's a Cornish hen size).

I'm very pleased with them. They seem to be made from some type of ceramic and are much more stable and more weighty than a beer can.

I had some problems with the barbecue store with my orders, but Charlie finally made things right for me. I have 3 chicken sitters and 1 turkey sitter. The turkey sitter had been backordered and was delaying things. Other items I have ordered from the barbecue store include: stainless steel injector, mini mops, bear paws.

The PNWBA had the ceramic units for sale thru someone in Seattle or Portland. When Bob Lyons get back from the Royal we can possibly get the info for you.
