I like that a lot. In fact, I have one of those accessory racks that I don't otherwise use much. I'm going to do what you did with one minor modification. I plan to drill holes in the back of the wood so it is held a bit more away from the Weber and slopes upward (closer to the Weber at the top) for easy viewing. That will also eliminate the need to bend the hooks.

What I like about yours is that it would be easy to slip a cover over the Maverick sending unit to provide rain protection. I know the Maverick sending unit is supposed to be waterproof, I just like to provide additional protection just in case. I usually slip it inside a plastic bag and fold the opening under it to reduce water exposure.

Thanks for the tips and wonderful German ingenuity on your part. Just ordered a Maverick dual probe and you have saved me some time trying to figure out how to mount it.
