I am getting ready to do my first turkey in the WSM this weekend for Super Bowl Sunday. I have a fresh 14lb bird ready to go into brine. I was thinking of doing the apple brined turkey recipe and was wondering what woods people like with turkey. I was thinking of using cherry? Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

Cherry is our personal favorite...use it on foul for a kick...
For something exotic - try Pear..(yummy)

I like fruit woods, cherry is great.
Don't be afraid to cook at higher temps,
275-325*. The brine will keep it moist.
