"takes too long to register the temperature" how "fast" does it really need to be? Its not used as an instant read meat therm. I just ordered the BQ300 with the 3" dial and 4" stem today and I suspect I will be very happy with it. (white face not black) It will be replacing the taylor candy therm I started with. I'm still curious what a 5" dial looks like on the wsm.

Brandon, I have the white face BQ300 with a 4" stem and I love it. It's not permanently mounted in my cooker because I use it for both the WSM and my kettle.

My God, how fast do they expect to read a temperature. It will read a temperature within 20 seconds.
