BGE Table w/WSM

Has anyone made a table similar to the one that is on the Big Green Egg Accessory list http://www.biggreenegg.com/tables.html
?
I was thinking that I could make the lower shelf that the cooker sits on closer to the ground so that the cooker isn't up so high, and maybe bolting the legs to the shelf. I would make sure and make the large hole the correct size. I would really enjoy having the work-space that the table allows as well as being able to roll the cooker into the garage.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

I built a table using the BGE plans for my Imperial Kamado and had to modify it to fit, but I had to raise the height of the bottom shelf. Then I modified a BGE Cypress table to accomadate the IK and BGE. What you are suggesting would work, I wouldn't bolt the legs of the WSM to the table. When I designed my WSM cart, I was thinking of some way to secure the WSM legs and be able to remove the bottom to dump ash etc. I got some 2" ABS pipe caps and screwed them to the cart frame and the legs fit in the caps and are quite sturdy.

I'm looking for a used 72"x30" stainless steel prep table to mount the ceramics in. Another sharp looking table/cart idea is using a Metro cart and having a wood or stainless top. Check out some of the different Egg nests here:

There are some pretty creative tables and any of them would look good with a WSM in them!

Brian,

Wow - what a great idea about the pipe caps....it looks like it should hold really well. I love your WSM cart! Also, thanks for the link to the tables for the BGE - I can't believe how many great tables and unique ideas are represented there! Hopefully, I can post my pictures of a table soon!

Mike

On page 2 of the table gallery are pics of ajays and the Naked Whiz's tables using Metro carts, you could possibly do something like that for under a hundred bucks.
