I am planning to cook a butterball turkey breast for christmas lunch.
Are all "butterball turkey breast" self-bssting?The package says "contains up to I think 15% solution. This is a bone=in rib and breast turkey with gravy package.
I have cooked them before but don"t remember if it was labled "self-basting?
USe a rub or not?

Jerry,
I've cooked 10 or so boneless breasts Butterball's that are self-basting. I pretty sure self-basting means they've been injected with a salt solution. I've used a light coat of low sodium rub and everything turned out fine. I'd go light on the salt.
