Hi Folks,

Will be traveling to the U.S. (Atlanta) next month on business and would like to pick up a good thermometer for my OTG. Since I also use the OTG for low-and-slow smoking I've though about getting a remote thermometer. Does anybody have experience with the Maverick Remote ET-7 Wireless Thermometer? Would you recommend it? Any other good, recommendable remote thermometers out there?

Thanks,
Dave

I own the Maverick ET-7. I don't use it much anymore, but that has nothing to do with the unit itself...I just don't remote monitor meat temp much anymore.

The ET-73 is also very popular, with one probe for meat and another for cooker temp.

Regards,
Chris

I've used both the ET-7 and ET-73. I own the latter. I like the ET-73 better because it has a HIGH and LOW temp alarm setting so you can set a temperature range. It's useful when you use the it to monitor the temps in the kettle for smoking. WIth the ET-7 all you can do is set a high temp alarm. I have used the ET-73 for about 5 trouble-free months now.
