Genesis silver B grates - standard vs SS (PCI not here in UK)

I've seen a lot of discussion here about the PCI grates but how do the standard "Porcelain-enameled Cooking Grates" compare. I saw someone saying these are coated steel.
It's a chance to pick up a cheap Genesis silver B here in the UK and I wondered what the grate performance was like. I think I'll probably plump for it and see if I ever need the SS later.

I've had all 3 types. The steel coated, imo, are just as good as the SS but they don't last as long. I would grab the good buy and replace with SS when needed - and that will be several years off.

IMHO the porcelain enamel cooking grill plates are a lot easier to clean and maintain than the SS. The SS may give a longer life but it is my experience that most replace the SS more often due to them looking dirty and deteriorated.
Either way go for it it will be a good investment.

Thanks for the info. Of course I should have expected the biased sales advice
