meatballs and grape sriracha sauce

Howdy,

I have a work party for tomorrow lunch and I am putting together an idea for a crockpot based meatball appetizer. I have done the frozen meatball/grape jelly/catsup combo and it is fine but I am bored with it. I have also fallen in love with the Wolfe orange marmalade/sriracha sauce for wings.

So I am thinking of trying to combine the 2 recipes and see what happens. I will substitute grape jelly for the orange marmalade and use the sriracha and brown sugar and maybe some honey for the rest of the sauce. I will mix the frozen meatballs with the combined/unheated sauce ingrediants early in the morning and let the crockpot do the rest.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I am worried that the sugar in the sauce will give me problems due to it being prepared in the low heat of a crockpot (separate over time, burn on the meatballs, etc.) Please let me know if I am barking up the wrong tree. I have used this website for years and the wealth of knowledge is immense and very freindly.

Thanks in advance,
Troy
