GURU TEMP PROBLEMS

WSM user here..

I've had my guru for about a year..
The last couple of cooks,I've had a hard time
keeping the temps down.

pit is very happy at 250.. I cannot get the temp
to drop below that..

I use a clay pot base instead of the water pan.
guru, and no other mods with kingsford charcoal, light with the minion method.

The 1st dozen or so cooks, I didn't have any problems keeping it around 200...nothing has changed...

Any idea's? (She doesn't seem to leak anymore than before..)

As a leaky WSM & Guru owner I would guess that there is a leak or that you need to close your top vent some more. If your charcoal bowl/main body has a leak you can take the bottom of an old t-shirt, cut two inches off and soak in water. You then put the wet t-shirt over the charcoal bowl and put the main body on. This makes a good O-ring.
